My
1996 Ford Windstar, a project that's been coming together for nearly two
years -- it's going to be 100% streetable
and not a racecar but it’ll be fun!
Being that in my "prior life" I was all about my vehicles;
some things in life can’t ever change whether I have an "inability"
or not. You can't always let life
changes change the person you are or you could very easily find yourself crawling
into a corner only to roll up in a ball and give up on life. That's never been me and neither has the
persons behind this project! I'm sure
a few people might take me for nuts or even disagree with my build BUT when something has always been in
my DNA, it can’t change! The
adrenaline that comes with something you enjoy in life can't be removed as
life is to be enjoyed and I enjoy mine very much. Some people go to the sand
dunes to ride their toys , others might go to the fair for a roller coaster to
get their rocks off and then there's me who enjoys his vehicles. It's all about "an individual's right to choose" or
to do whatever turns them on -- per se. This and many other things in life
are what give me a greater reason to NEVER GIVE UP, to live life as if I'm
"Wile E. Coyote" and always
chasing down that ever elusive damn roadrunner as I know eventually…perseverance
will pay off and I'll have that "Roadrunner" by the neck saying
"Beep-Beep" myself! When all
is said and done; this'll be like having a luxury rocketship that's
wheelchair accessible!
Air-conditioning, power steering, power windows and the list continues
to grow! With an estimated 375 to 400+ streetable horsepower at the front
wheels (at the time of this site being posted) after it gets dyno tuned and after
a little break-in, there will be much more information. Afterwards I'll not only post the real
numbers but also a copy of the dyno runs to show the exact numbers with the
factory stock 2003/04 Cobra pulley on it. From there, I'll shoot for a
pulley that'll give me right at 10 PSI of boost. To help prevent
pre-ignition/detonation a Snow Performance water/methanol injection kit has
been added. For those unfamiliar with water/methanol injection click here for
more information: Water / Alcohol Injection Free horsepower or very "Low
Cost Horsepower"! If you’re wondering, "Why the #### pour money into a
Windstar?" Well, here's the answer in a nutshell: A number of
years ago I was in a motorcycle accident in which I broke my neck.
Prior to that I enjoyed drag and road racing my different 1969 Ford Mustang
mach 1's. The want and will to accelerate never and I mean never goes
away, and then continues on until the bitter end! Anyone who would like to help me out with a "small donation" from 1¢ to you name it and you can go to PayPal and use the email address: windstarhelp@gmail.com Yes, it may seem like a low thing to ask, but right now I'm in a low point in my life/project since AmFam bailed on me. I found out about it way too late in order to do anything about. Life goes on, just in my other Windstar and the work will continue at a much slower pace than what I had expected! Baby steps when I want to leap into it head first... |
